Formerly: worked in the non-profit and private sectors in California, Israel and the West Bank, and the UK, and for UNICEF in New York. 2001-05, with the US State Department working on non-proliferation, homeland security and South Asia; detailed to the Vice-President's Office and to the National Security Council as Director for South Asia. 2005-09, Executive Director and Director, South Asia Project and Member of the Board, Belfer Center, Harvard Kennedy School. Former Executive Director, PeaceNexus Foundation, Switzerland. Currently, Project Director, US Programme, Chatham House. Author of numerous articles and op-eds; has been interviewed extensively on radio and television.
