Tanya Lewis

Editor, Health and Medicine, Scientific American

I am a science journalist and health and medicine editor at Scientific American, based in New York. I write and edit news stories for the website, as well as some for print.

I’ve previously written for The Scientist, Business Insider, Live Science, Science News, Wired, and other publications. I specialize in neuroscience and biotech, covering everything from genetics to prosthetics to how our brains work (and sometimes don’t).

I have a bachelor of science in biomedical engineering from Brown University, where I studied how to make people move robots with their minds, and a graduate degree in science communication from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where I learned how to move people’s minds with words.
