Waughray joined the Forum in 2005 after a seven-year spell as Managing Partner at Environmental Resources Management. Before that, he worked for the UK civil service as a higher scientific officer with the Natural Environment Research Council’s Institute of Hydrology.
As well as his work with the Forum, Waughray is an international fellow of the International Institute for Environment and Development; an associate fellow of the Royal Institute of International Affairs; a trustee of the Climate Group; and a member of the Policy Advisory Board of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. He chairs both the 2030 Water Resources Group Executive Committee and the UNFCCC Momentum for Change Advisory Panel on Climate Change Finance.
He writes and blogs for a range of publications, including the UK’s Guardian, the Financial Times and the Huffington Post. In 2011, he co-authored a book for the Forum on water security.
