After his undergraduate studies at Tufts University in the US, Amod started his career at Bloomberg News in New York. He came back to Nepal in 2009 and joined Ace Development Bank as a Credit Analyst. In 2012 Amod obtained his MBA at the Said Business School at the University of Oxford. Amod joined InfraCo Asia in Singapore to work on infrastructure projects in emerging countries in South and South-East Asia.

Currently, Amod is the Chief Investment Officer of his family’s firm the Mercantile Group of Companies. Amod oversees the Group’s expansionary investments in Private Equity, Financial Services, Energy, and Home Improvements sectors.

In 2014, he started a Private Equity firm called True North Associates to provide access to finance to growth stage companies in Nepal. He is also the Program Director at Enterprise Business Accelerator Program, which is a 12-week mentorship based program that helps SMEs become investment ready.

Amod joined the Global Shaper Kathmandu Hub in 2013 and became the Curator of the Hub in 2014. He oversaw the hub’s earthquake relief projects and post disaster reconstruction projects. Amod is also a member of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization and is the Marketing and Communications Lead for the Nepal Chapter.
